Email Tarot Reading – How it Works
First purchase a package. These range from a One Card Draw through to larger spreads of 8 – 12 cards. Click on your chosen spread/service. This constitutes your order, and you’ll need to pay at this point. We use Paypal, but you don’t need a Paypal account as you can use a debit or credit card. You will receive an email confirmation of your order.
Next I ask that you click on “My Tarot Readings” to take you to our portal where you will need to add some background information and your question for me to use to produce your reading. If you would like some more time to think of your question, you can come back to the website at any time to do this.
Once you’ve updated your information and question on to the portal, I’ll email you back to confirm the question (sometimes I’ll suggest a re-wording to help you get the most out of the reading), and sometimes I might ask for a bit more information, or check that I’ve understood your question correctly. If I need any more information from you, you can pop it on to the portal on the website. I’ll also confirm the timescale with you. I aim to complete all readings within a week, but usually it’s within 3 or 4 days.
After the question has been confirmed I choose the Tarot deck that best fits the situation. I have quite a few decks, but find I use the Radiant Rider-Waite most often, as well as the Chrysalis Tarot, Druidcraft Tarot and Everyday Tarot.
Before a reading I physically prepare the reading space by laying my special cloth over the table, arranging crystals to provide good energy and lighting a candle to help with meditation and focus.
I mentally prepare myself by quietly meditating and focusing on one or two cards to help channel my intuition. I’m not a psychic reader, so it’s important that I spend time removing conscious thoughts and letting my unconscious surface.
Depending on the type of reading purchased I might use various rituals to choose cards, but usually simply shuffle the cards while focusing on the Seeker’s question and pull the cards for the spread from the top of the pack, laying it out upwards on the cloth.
One of the best aspects of email readings is that it is a very reflective process. I look at the cards for a while, noticing themes and patterns amongst them. I start to tell the story from the cards in my mind, relating it back to the Seeker’s question. Sometimes a particular symbol, colour or number may jump out that is the key to the whole reading, or sometimes the message can seem quite obscure at first.
I then leave the spread and let it rumble around in the back of my mind whilst I go about my every-day tasks. Then, I usually sit down to write up the reading the next day. The written word is my preferred method of communicating, so this method plays to my strengths. The write-up includes an overview of the cards used and the positions of the spread, as well as a summary of the reading as a whole, and, usually, advice and/or actions the cards suggest as the way forward.
The write-up and a photo of the spread are then made available for you to download from the website. You’ll get an email telling you when this is ready.
Feedback about the reading is always welcome and I’m happy to clarify any unclear points or expand if needed as long as this is within the context of the original question and not a supplementary or new question!
